Ubud Hotel and Cottages

Very nice staff. Large room and amazing swimming pool. Close to our meetings. Quiet environnent.

Size of the family room is quite large. Great view!

There was disturbing noise from the ceiling every night. There were many mosquitoes in the room (mosquitoe nets in the bathroom were not properly secured).

Beautiful place with a great view and nice and spacious room.

The restaurant was not so cozy for the evenings. And the location in the neighborhood of 3 mosques can be a bit noisy at prayer-times.

We had a University guest from the UK traveling for work to Malang. We thought this place would be a lovely experience due to the Bali vibes, so we booked the suite room for him. The decorations were picturesque and some staff were kind.

Our guest experienced several inconveniences during his stay. When he arrived in his suite, no towels and bathroom mats were available. We contacted the reception and it did not come even after waiting 45 mins until we offered to pick them up by ourselves. The electricity was shut down (and wifi) twice, so that he finally decided to work in a cafe during the day. Dried leaves and dust littered the floor in front of the suite and the swimming pool.

The location is good. Very nice surroundings. Nice and friendly staffand good food.

friendly staff and great breakfast in the morning. Our room was quite old but fine for a night. We had a relaxed swim in one of the really nice pools.

The staff in this hotel is very kind and helpful. Also the location is great - peacefull and far from a busy road.

This place is so sad and looks abandoned. The room was extremely dark, not so clean, and very old. Facilities definitely need a big change. The bottom pool looks great in pictures but in reality, the whole area is just abandoned and sad. We stayed for 5 days and were sick during our stay so believe me, we had a great chance to experience this place 24/7. It's okay when you stay for 1-2 days and spend the whole day outside on a tour but "living" in this room was not pleasant at all. Also, get ready being waken up at 4AM every day with a rather loud prayer from a nearby mosque.

We're used to staying in hostels/ homestays while we travel and this is by far the best place we've been for a similar price. The room was spacious, sparkling clean and beds were super comfortable. Staff were lovely! Particularly Fajar from security who was incredibly helpful and so friendly, he went out of his way to help us and had plenty of recommendations. Great location too, only a 10 min grab to the nearby malls and a good location for getting to Bromo too. Would definitely stay here again.

The view was great.. The pool was clean.

The facilities in the room need attention. The phone wasn't working, and there was no fridge even when we upgraded the rooms to the family rooms. Breakfast menus were boring. .

Almost nothing. Room is not as in the pictures, so feel manipulated. Around the room and pool, many grass and bushes.

This hotel has 2 separated buildings, and the building that we stayed looks like abandoned. No reception and hotel staff, except security and housekeeper in the morning.

The Bali ambience is real

Exterior of the hotel is very nice and definitely has unique vibe however it seems like it was prioritized over functionality of the rooms or overall comfort.Nice pool and dinner options.

The rooms were very dark and humid with visible water damages. Hotel make good first impression with wooden window shutters but when you realize that there is no glass there it stops being fun very fast. There is Bali music playing almost whole day which is just tiring especially if you want to sleep in. Breakfast is very small portion, basically one egg and 4 small sausages. Whole hotel looks nice from distance but when you look closer you’ll notice mold, rust and other signs of much needed renovation.

The hotel is visually stunning. Beautiful decorations, swimming pool is great. It was a pleasure to just walk around and hang out by the pool. Rooms were clean, with a nice interior. And the staff was really friendly.

We came during the rainy season, so nothing was really drying out and the room smelled like mold. It would be great to have some space to dry things out or just a free drying service. Looking at the prices in Indonesia all of the extra services in the hotel were pretty pricey.

We arrived 5 hours earlier to the hotel because of a change in our train. When we arrived we asked if the room was free but they wanted to charge us 60% of the room value to get in early. It was not nice to know that the room was available they just did not want to give us for free. Still after 3 hours the personnel in the reception changed and we could finally get in. So good and bad. Also we booked a trip to Bromo which was expensive but we agreed to pay. When we got there they wanted to scam us and made us pay for services that were supposedly already included in the tour. The hotel eventually paid us back (after a lot of discussion) but it was not a nice experience. I believe that you can find a better hotel if you want to relax and not face these issues.

Beautiful hotel with friendly staff that makes you feel you are in Bali. The location is perfect as it is located in a peaceful street, but close enough to the main street for restaurants, laundry etc. The hotel has 2 locations: hotel and cottages. Just 100m apart. We got an upgrade to the cottages as our room asigned to us had cold shower.Pool was clean and we saw staff cleaning it daily as well. Breakfast buffet was great with many dishes to choose from, fresh fruit, and toast as well.

Paid for a room that looked completely different to the pictures - was supposed to have a pool view, instead we ended up with a room with basically no windows, when I asked I was told we’d been given a free upgrade. Had to pay an extortionate amount for early check in aftergetting the night train from Yogyakarta - thought businesses would be more understanding when there’s only one train available for travellers. We arrived at 7am and was told to wait until 2pm after having no sleep,then was offered to pay 400,000 IDR for early check inafter we were visibly upset. Awful policies.

swimming pool was okay but in bad condition

The room: The first room we were given was in bad condition, the boiler didn’t work at first (staff fixed it but it still took a very long time before the water was warm) and got filled with smoke after we put the airco off. The staff said they would fix that but didn’t so we asked for another room. The second room was more fresh, but also in bad condition, also very slow boiler, a very hard matras, and full of insects. Communication: it took two days for them to reply to our message about the check-in. After that they texted us about things that were irrelevant or already taken care of. Activities: the hotel offers only a tour to Mount Bromo back and forth. They couldn’t help us with any other tour. Also the facilities in general were in bad condition and the hotel just seemed to be in a state of disrepair.

Everything was good. Nice location, nice swimingpool. Cozy rooms.

I prefer a better selection of the meals in the restaurant. Only Indonesian cuisine.
